Holidays

Dear Parents,

In years past, DeMiguel has provided holiday gifts to our less fortunate families and we would like to continue the tradition.  As we did last year, we are asking families to send in gift cards; in any amount you are comfortable with, to WalMart or Target.  A DeMiguel “Angel” will then shop for the gifts so you don’t have to! 

If you wish to help make a DeMiguel family’s holiday a little brighter, send your gift cards to school in an envelope with your child.  Please write your child’s name with “Brighter Holiday” on the envelope.   If you would prefer to purchase a gift item rather than send a gift card, or you would like to volunteer to shop for a family, contact Jamie Smith at 773-4003 or email jsmith3@fusd1.org.  We are asking for receipt of gift cards or gifts by December 1st so we have time to shop (or prior to Thanksgiving break)!

Help support DeMiguel's Odyssey of the Mind teams by purchasing Harkins Theater 2015 loyalty cups, t-shirts, and gift cards.  Place your orders now in time for the holidays and use as gifts for family, friends, and co-workers.  DeMiguel OM will receive a portion of the proceeds.  Projected delivery date is the first week of December.

Chess Club

Saturday, November 22nd, DeMiguel will host its 1st USCF (United States Chess Federation) Scholastic Chess Tournament.

This is a city-wide invitational. We expect all our DeMiguel Chess Club players to participate...but this event is open to any student who knows how to play chess and would like the opportunity.

Flyers are available in the office and registration is easy.
